COOL Youth Center Meal Provider

The meal provider purchases, prepares and serves a meal to approximately 40 kids, grades 1-12 of the COOL Youth Center. Well-balanced meals including fruits, vegetables, protein and whole grains are appreciated. Meals are provided as part of our after-school program. We are currently seeking groups for Monday and Tuesday nights during the school year.

Responsibilities:

Purchase and prepare the food for 40 kids, including milk (no pork products).
Serve the meal at 6:00 p.m.
Perform cleanup of serving supplies and kitchen.
Fill out meal record form for statistical and liability purposes.

Qualifications:
Responsible, reliable, patient, and respectful. Ideal group opportunity.

Time Commitment:
2 hours per shift plus additional time for planning and purchasing the meal. Volunteers may arrive as early as 4:00 p.m. to start their meal preparation. Please call to schedule with staff if more time is necessary.

Training:
New groups can meet with Jabbok staff for a facilitated discussion about the organization, areas of service and kitchen facilities. Discussion should take no longer than 20 minutes. A tour of the center will also be provided for meal groups.

Facilities:
Full kitchen on-site includes a commercial oven, refrigerator, pots, pans, cooking and serving utensils. The meal can be made in advance and warmed or prepared completely at the center.
